Film Script - Already Filmed

I wrote screenplay for short movie project, mostly handled for tasks as film school student. I learned that writing for audio visual product not only write the emotion, but also more accurately in action that the character will do. A story in screenplay needs to be logic refers to its set, because movie is the world that make believe.

Let me introduce you to my short movie project i had write.

Bukan Gila(ng) (2019) | Thriller

Gilang (20) live with his divorced father. Gilang is struggled for getting a job, even though his father thinks that Gilang is smart. Once in a while, his mother comes home and cheer him, makes Gilang feel closer to her. Suddenly, his mother tells Gilang to leave and asking him to follow her.

This fiction short movie captured the living of a young man with schizoprenia. The director and I did research for Man with Schizoprenia/Orang Dengan Skizofrenia (ODS) at Rumah Berdaya Denpasar in December, 2018. From this movie, we would like to talk, that schizoprenia man isn't crazy, just like the title, Bukan Gila(ng). 

Bukan Gila(ng) has been produced and released in 2019.

Balas Pati (2019) | Thriller

Dina is a fashion design consultant. Suddenly, her life is messed up. The run-away co worker, a client who is canceled her order, her bridal gown design which still not fixed. 

This movie tells a cause-and-effect between character Dina and her co-worker, Nia. The title, Balas Pati, means balas dendam sampai mati/revenge to death. 

Balas Pati has been produced and released in the middle of year 2019.

Semara (2021) | Romantic Horror

Sari meets Adi, A blind man from birth that just moved in the neighborhood. They become lover.

As Semara's Scriptwriter, I would like to show an obsessed love that brings to death, from the two main character, Adi and Sari. They develop their love as a blind man who can't see, and a ghost who can't be seen, as a low-class living by the riverside. 

On the development process, the team and I did data research and observation to a blind man's living in BRSPDSN Mahatmiya Bali, a social services located in Kediri Tabanan. Then we meet Pak Rusdin (40), one of them, who had live alone during his adult life, just like our character Adi's did. From our observation, we learned to know how blind man could fall in love even they can't see their lovers, and how did a blind man live alone.

For Sari's character, we tried to match her character to the local entity of ghost in Bali called Wong Samar, a ghost just like human who live in different dimention. From our information we got, Wong Samar could appear in human dimention in particular time: on the early days, noon (tengai tepet), and late afternoon (sandikala). In some places in Bali, especially on the countryside, it still can be found that a man has a wong samar as a lover, some of them even told has getting married.

Semara is a love story that I would like to write romantically, but ended tragically.
